It appears that the chapel was demolished and subsequently rebuilt between 1874 and 1899, as second and third edition Ordnance Survey Maps show a church is a slightly different location with an attached school building.

Full Description

A Congregational Chapel in Great Boughton, Chester. The chapel originally opened in 1866 on the adjacent site before moving to the current site in 1873, closed in 1976 and has since been converted into a commercial premises (7).

The chapel is present on the first edition OS Map and Town plan of 1874 (2), (3). It appears that the chapel was demolished and subsequently rebuilt between 1874 and 1899, as second and third edition OS Maps of 1899 (4) and 1911 (5) show a church is a slightly different location with an attached school building (6).
