Full Description
Evidence of a possible foundation and rubbish pit were identified during archaeological investigations in Foregate Street in 1983. The investigations were carried out during re-surfacing works to the street surface itself and encountered a series of undressed sandstone blocks on an east-west alignment 4m north of the southern edge of the road. The blocks extended for a length of approximately 5m. (1)
A possible pit feature was also encountered approximately 45m from the junction consisting of a dark silty deposit containing animal bone (1)
