Summary

The 1842 tithe map for Larkton township depicts a small farmstead comprising two fields and one building. The accompanying award records this farmstead as belonging to Thomas Tyrwhitt Drake. One field is occupied by George Pickering. The building and it's enclosing croft are listed as being occupied by 'Poor of Duckington'. On late nineteenth century maps a number of addittional buildings have been constructed and an addittional field enclosed. The maps also depict a well and an orchard. By the mid 1980s the building has been demolished or become ruined. Probably a squatter farmstead.

Full Description

The 1842 tithe map for Larkton township depicts a small farmstead comprising two fields and one building. The accompanying award records this farmstead as belonging to Thomas Tyrwhitt Drake. One field is occupied by George Pickering. The building and it's enclosing croft are listed as being occupied by 'Poor of Duckington' (1).

On late nineteenth century maps a number of addittional buildings have been constructed and an addittional field enclosed. The maps also depict a number of wells and an orchard (2).

By the mid 1980s the building has been demolished or become ruined (3).

Probably a squatter farmstead (4).
