Full Description
During the course of landscaping works carried out along the west side of Souter's Lane in 1983, an amount of medieval pottery, and an assemblage of post medieval pottery and finds were found (1). The medieval pottery was described (in an unpublished report only) as a small amount, and included one fragment of a fifteenth to sixteenth century flask and a Saintonge jug.
Post medieval finds included a bronze-working crucible fragment, a sixteenth to seventeenth century type lead cloth seal with the initials AL and another dated 1789, and a late nineteenth or early twentieth century green glass water bottle (1). No other information on the nature of this work is available.
