The Lower King’s Ferry Turnpike trust was enacted in 1826 following substantial land reclamation around the old port of Chester. The increase in available land allowed for the creation of a number of new roads including Sealand Road to Lower King’s Ferry (now Queensferry). The road was turnpiked in 1826, operating only until 1838
