Summary

Historic mapping shows that a Chapel has been at this location from around 1840. First edition ordnance survey mapping shows a Primitive Methodist chapel at the site from the late nineteenth century. Today the Chapel has been converted into a dwelling and is referred to as Chapel House.

Full Description

This is a Primitive Methodist Chapel opened in 1893 in the village of Agden; the chapel was closed by 1965 and is currently utilized as a dwelling (1).

The Tithe Map for Agden of 1840 states that a chapel occupied this plot (2), first edition OS Map of 1874 shows a Methodist Chapel (Primitive) at this location (3). This continues to appear on later OS Mapping of 1898-189 (4) and 1911 (5). On Modern mapping the location is marked as a Chapel House (6).

It is clear from the historic mapping that a chapel has been at this location from around 1840 (7).
