Full Description
Extensive test excavations carried out in 2011 in the Roman Gardens produced a relatively large assemblage of post medieval finds, ranging in date from the fifteenth or sixteenth century, to the eighteenth century (1). In the northern part of the gardens, the remains of the previously identified clay tobacco pipe manufacturers were also recorded (CHER 10067), but these additional finds were found scattered throughout the gardens, in every test trench excavated (1).
