Full Description
An archaeological excavation and watching brief carried out during ground disturbance works in relation to development within the grounds of Dee House, Little St John St., between 2000 and 2001 (1).
In excavation Area III, the most recent archaeological activity identified was the construction of brick structures during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the development of which can also be traced through cartographic sources (Wood's 1833 plan of the city, OS First Ed.) (1). It is possible that these remains also represent the Dean's House (see CHER 11033/11/2), as the two monuments are thought to be situated in the same general location, but this is not certain.
