Please read our .

Summary

A ship building yard is recorded on the east bank of the River Dee on Wood’s map of the city in 1833. The yard is called the ‘River Dee Company Shipbuilding Yard’ and appeared to comprise at least one long narrow building in approximately the same position as the present railway viaduct. The coming of the railway inevitably replaced this and by Cole’s map of 1851 it is gone.
