Full Description
Northgate Church is a congregational chapel built 1874 by T.M. Lockwood. It is of yellow squared sandstone to the front and brick to the sides and rear with a purple slate roof. Liturgical west is compass east; the description is by liturgical orientation. Hall-nave; south-west spire; 2-storey office on east end. There is an inserted suspended ceiling; furnishing replaced. The original roof structure, now hidden, is stated to be intact. (1)
The chapel was built for the Mount Zion congregation formerly based at Commonhall Street who continued on this site until 1967. (2)
