Summary

Archaeological investigations carried out during the installation of gas pipes across Chester identified traces of post medieval activity at the Fountains roundabout in 2012. The excavations identified traces of a brick structure constructed of red unfrogged brick consisting of a north-south aligned wall 2.88m in length and surviving to a height of two courses and two abutting east-west aligned walls. The walls may relate to structures demolished in the 1960s to make way for the ring road.

The excavations identified traces of a brick structure constructed of red unfrogged brick consisting of a north-south aligned wall 2.88m in length and surviving to a height of two courses and two abutting east-west aligned walls.
