Full Description
Archaeological investigations carried out during the installation of gas pipes across Chester identified traces of post medieval activity in Delamere Street in 2012. The excavated area recorded a post medieval sandstone wall [1150] on a north-south alignment at a depth of approximately 0.38m below present ground level.
The wall was recorded over an extent of 3.2m and survived to a height of two courses. Several fragments of 17th-18th century pottery were recovered directly below the lower course. (1)
