Full Description
No.2 Market Place, Church Street. Two shops with living accommodation, converted to a restaurant. Late C17 and early C18. Of brick with grey slate roofs. Three storeys. Altered recessed lower storey behind colonnade of eight Tuscan pillars of red sandstone. The second and third storeys are flush with a coped gable to front at each end. Interior: Lower storey is considerable altered in plan with doors and other features moved. One inglenook bressumer. In the upper storeys much brick-on-edge nogged oak small-framing is intact, a number of two and four-panel oak doors c.1700 and two mid C19 six-panel softwood doors.
