Summary

A large tannery is recorded on Brook Street on historic maps from the late 19th to early 20th century. The complex consisted of a large warehouse to the front of the property with a covered carriageway providing access to the rear where a number of tanks associated with the tanning process were located. The larger works to the rear were demolished in the late 20th century to make way for the modern inner ring road, however, the front section survives.

A large tannery is recorded on Brook Street on historic maps from the late 19th to early 20th century. The complex consisted of a large warehouse to the front of the property with a covered carriageway providing access to the rear where a number of tanks associated with the tanning process were located. The larger works to the rear were demolished in the late 20th century to make way for the modern inner ring road, however, the front section survives.
