Full Description
The Campbell Memorial Hall is a church hall and caretakers cottage built for St Pauls Church by T.M. Lockwood. It is of dressed stone with brick and timber framing with plaster panels. The hall has a lower front wing with a cartouche inscribed "CAMPBELL MEMORIAL HALL" under shaped gable with finials. The cottage has brick lower storey with 5-light timber mullioned window. The hall has substantial exposed softwood trusses with tie, queen posts, collar and king post. The kitchen, much lower, has concave ceiling; a passage beneath the upper floor of No.3 The Mount, to east entrance.
The Mount is a second caretakers cottage built at the same time by T.M. Lockwood. It is two storeys with stone dressed brick and timber framing. The jettied first floor of the left bay has a close-studded wall with shaped tops to plaster panels (1)
