Full Description
The Baptist Church on Grosvenor Park Road was built 1879-80 by John Douglas. It is now a Zion chapel. It is of stone dressed red brick with a red brown clay tile roof. There is an undercroft with ancillary rooms in a small wing at west end of each side. The symmetrical west front has corner turrets with eaves lower than those to the church; each turret has double boarded doors in moulded pointed-arched stone openings. (1)
The chapel was built for a Baptist congregation that formerly met at Pepper Street between 1871 and 1880. (2)
