St Werburgh Church is a Roman Catholic church, built 1873-75 but extended and altered by Edmund Kirby in 1913-14. It is of buff sandstone with a grey slate roof. Continuous aisled nave and sanctuary, liturgical orientation reversed. The interior has alternating round and octagonal columns with rich foliar capitals; boarded wagon roof with trusses having stop-chamfered ties and octagonal posts; arched sanctuary truss with timber tracery.

Attached is a presbytery built in the gothic style in 1875 to the designs of Edmund Kirby.
