Full Description
No 142 Foregate Street was the Chester City police station, built 1884 by John Douglas for the city, it is now in use as the County Council occupational health unit. It is of stone banded red Ruabon brick with a grey slate roof. It is three storeys high with an attic, the front to Foregate Street is in Douglas’ Flemish style with a single bay under a broad stepped gable. The first and second floor facades fronting onto Foregate Street consists of a continuous band of windows. (1)
