Full Description
St Barnabus Church is a mission church and curate’s house, now offices built in 1877-78 by John Douglas. It is brick with stone details to the church and timber framed front to the house with a slate roof. The church has a six bay nave continuous with a one bay chancel. There is a two bay north transept with attached vestry, west porch and octagonal north-west baptistry; a roofed lobby between church and curate's house. The church and house were built from public subscription to serve the workers' suburb adjoining the railway by Chester Station, Station Road. (1)
