Summary

The Catholic Club was originally built as a hotel, later used as a public houses and now a licensed club. It was built 1913-14 by John Davies and Sons, it is of English garden wall bond red-brown brick with yellow sandstone dressings and timber frame with plaster panels. The front facade is Vernacular Revival with a rear facade in domestic Queen Anne style.

Full Description

The Catholic Club was originally built as a hotel, later used as a public houses and now a licensed club. It was built 1913-14 by John Davies and Sons, it is of English garden wall bond red-brown brick with yellow sandstone dressings and timber frame with plaster panels. The front facade is Vernacular Revival with a rear facade in domestic Queen Anne style. (1)

The building is marked with 'EWS' on the corner of Brook Street and Milton Street, dating to World War II this marked an emergency water supply. (2)
