Full Description
The George and Dragon public house was built in 1929-31 for the Birkenhead Brewery Co. It is of sandstone dressed brown brick with a timber frame with plaster panels and red tile roof. It is of the "Road House" type, designed in the manner of an Elizabethan manor-house, on a prominent site between Liverpool Road and Parkgate Road, facing north end of Upper Northgate Street. The first floor has a stone jetty with carved corbels, close studding and ornately framed jettied gables. (1)
