Summary

No 113-117 Foregate Street consists of stone dressed red Ruabon brick buildings in use as shops and accommodation. They were built 1889-1890 by John Douglas for the first Duke of Westminster as a lodge for Parkers Buildings. No 113-115 consists of a narrow town house of three storeys forming the western part of a single design with No 117 itself forming a large property on the corner of Foregate Street and what is now City Road. They are joined by a wrought iron screen and gates that also provide access to the forecourt of Parkers Buildings.

Full Description

No 113-117 Foregate Street consists of stone dressed red Ruabon brick buildings in use as shops and accommodation. They were built 1889-1890 by John Douglas for the first Duke of Westminster as a lodge for Parkers Buildings. No 113-115 consists of a narrow town house of three storeys forming the western part of a single design with No 117 itself forming a large property on the corner of Foregate Street and what is now City Road. They are joined by a wrought iron screen and gates that also provide access to the forecourt of Parkers Buildings (CHER 10789). (1)
