Summary
Murlain House is a former school, built 1909 by H Beswick for Chester City Council. It is of hard red brick dressed with yellow terracotta and a grey slate roof. The front to Union Street is two storeys, the front to Forest Street is three storeys. The gable towards Love Street has terracotta apex inscribed "CITY OF CHESTER COUNCIL SCHOOL: AD 1909".
