No 70 Foregate Street consists of a small two storey town house, now shop of a probable mid 17th century date but much altered since. It is timber framed with plaster panels with an early 20th century shop front. The interior includes a Jacobean cross-beam. Stone steps to cellar. Doorway to room behind shop is possibly late 17th to 18th century, apparently altered and partly remade, has fluted pilasters and frieze on consoles. Surfaces in cellar and rear room are covered. (1)
