Summary

No 51 Foregate street is a late 16th century town house, later a hotel and now in use as a shop. Although originally built in around 1597 it was largely rebuilt in 1914 for Peter Walker and Sons Brewery. It is timber framed with plaster panels but also some steel framing. Three storeys high and three bays wide the facade is almost symmetrical. The survival of original features is uncertain.
