Full Description
No 18 Castle Street is a public house, currently known as the Golden Eagle, of a 17th-18th century date incorporating elements of the 15th century town house of Humphrey Ball, Sheriff of Chester. The exterior is largely post medieval of Flemish bond painted brick with a grey slate roof and three parallel ridges at right angles to the street. It is two storeys high with an attic. A lead rainwater pipe has a partial date inscribed ‘177..’ at the east end. The interior has been significantly altered. (1)
