Full Description
No 37-39 White Friars consists of a pair of town houses now in use as offices. Although they date to the start of the 19th century there is evidence of a medieval stone cellar below.
The houses are of pale brown brick in Flemish bond with a grey slate roof and a ridge parallel to the street. They are of three storeys original with two central windows on each floor. The interior has been significantly altered following its conversion to offices.
The cellar at No 37 has medieval sandstone walls to the front, east and west but with a concrete floor and a damaged stone stair. No 39 also has a medieval cellar with coursed sandstone rubble walls to the front, east and west. (1)
