Full Description
No 14-16 White Friars consists of two wide frontage town houses of a late 18th century date. No 14 is three storeys with a facade of painted stone and brown Flemish bond brickwork. The cellar is probably medieval in original with tooled squared sandstone rubble outer walls to the south, the southern 5m of the west wall and the lower courses of the east and north walls.
No 16 is also of three storeys of painted stone and brown brick to the front, it has previously been used for the Chester Rural District council offices and remains a municipal office. The cellar appears entirely 18th century with a brick barrel vault. (1)
