Summary

Archaeological investigations as part of a major redevelopment of the Hunter Street/Princess Street area identified several phases of medieval and later activity. Archaeological investigations at Hunter Street School in 1981 identified traces of an 18th century building consisting of several walls of several courses of brickwork above a rubble sandstone foundation.

Archaeological investigations as part of a major redevelopment of the Hunter Street/Princess Street area identified several phases of medieval and later activity.

Archaeological investigations at Hunter Street School in 1981 identified traces of an 18th century building in trench 7 of the excavations. The evidence consisted of several walls [W5 & W6] of several courses of brickwork above a rubble sandstone foundation. (1)
