Full Description
No 38 Eastgate Street is a stone undercroft, currently part of a larger store with No 28-38 Eastgate Street, of a mid 19th century date. It is believed to have been designed by T.M. Penson in the early Vernacular Revival style.
To the west, eight steps with a plain iron railing lead up to Row level with stairs down to the adjacent property (No 40 Eastgate Street) to the east. No 38 itself has no shop front at this level due to the great depth of the interior floor level. The interior is modern. (1)
