Full Description
No 33 Eastgate Street is currently in use as a bank and consists of a yellow sandstone three storey building with a symmetrical facade. It was built in around 1859-60 by George Williams. It includes No 3 St Werburgh Street.
The street level is smooth stonework with heavy cornices and three round headed windows. The first floor level has a portico facade of four Corinthian columns. The banking hall has a richly panelled ceiling supported by four Ionic Columns; the secondary entrance is through No.3 St Werburgh Street; the upper storeys are stated to be modernised internally.
