Full Description
Unstratified pottery dating to between the seventeenth or twentieth century, and clay pipe stem fragments of a similar date, was recovered from a test trench in the Castle Gardens during a watching brief between 2009 and 2012 (1). The investigations were carried out during the installation of gas pipelines and involved a large number of trenches across the city. The material was recovered from Test Trench 23A (1).
