Full Description
Unstratified, heavily abraded Roman pottery was recovered during a watching brief at the corner of Duke St. and Park St. between 2009 and 2012 (1). The investigations were carried out during the installation of gas pipelines and involved a large number of trenches across the city. The material was recovered from Trial Trench 221 and included first to second century Cheshire plain orange ware, second to fourth century Severn Valley ware, in addition to medieval and post medieval material (1).
