Full Description
Unstratified, Roman pottery, including identifiable first to third century material, was recovered during a watching brief on Foregate St. between 2009 and 2012 (1). The investigations were carried out during the installation of gas pipelines and involved a large number of trenches across the city.
The material was recovered from Trench 182B and C, and the excavators concluded that the area may have been an agricultural setting at that time (1).
