Monument record 7020 - Higher Snab Farm

A farmstead comprising a farm house, pigsties and two farm buildings located around a triangular yard is depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 25" to 1 mile map. There were also two small orchards flanking the house (1).

An additional open sided farm building (possibly as hay barn) is shown on the Ordnance Survey 2nd edition 25" to 1 mile map (2).

Additional farm buildings were constructed during the twentieth century (3).

The 1842 Tithe map for Bickley township shows four buildings (4).

Its difficult to reconcile the four buildings depicted on the Tithe map with those shown on later maps. It is clear that the farmstead changed between 1842 and 1874, but whether this was a complete or partial rebuild is unclear (5).
