Summary
A sandstone wall and its construction trench was excavated during archaeological investigations in Northgate Street in 2012, although no dating evidence was recovered they were tentatively interpreted as late medieval in date.

Full Description
Archaeological investigations in Northgate Street outside the Odeon Cinema in 2012 identified a complex series of archaeological features primarily dating to the Roman or post medieval/modern periods. However a construction cut [context 1164] for a line of sandstone blocks [context 1165] were thought by the excavator to be late medieval in date. (1)
