Full Description
Archaeological investigations at the southern end of Frodsham Street identified a substantial wall [context 1240] on a north-south alignment parallel with the wall of the Royal Bank of Scotland (No 13 Foregate Street). The wall was constructed using moderately sized blocks of sandstone and was sealed by a layer of black clinker that represented a modern road surface.
The excavations indicated the wall survived to a height of eight courses and probably represented the foundations and cellared space of a substantial building. (1)
