Full Description
A training ground, no longer extant, appears on the north side of Blackfriars on the 1871-3 town plan of Chester, but not on the earlier plan of de Lavaux (1745) (1, 2). The ground still appears on the 1910 OS 3rd edition mapping, but is presently occupied by a small group of buildings (3). Please note that if the training ground is a military facility, there is a militia barracks (CHER 10329) to the south, but not immediately to the south.
