Full Description
During extensive excavations at the site of the Royal Infirmary in 1992, a brick wall and a deposit of building rubble was identified in the south-east part of the site. These remains sealed a horizon containing a large amount of clay tobacco pipe kiln waste. The wall probably belonged to a late eighteenth century building lying to the south of the trench, one that appears on OS First Edition mapping (1).
