Monument record 10170 - Possible medieval walls at Frodsham Street

Please read our .

Summary

Evidence of two sandstone walls were recorded during archaeological investigations to the east of the City Arms Public house on Union Walk in 1985. No finds were recovered in association with either feature and all that could be concluded was that both walls predated the present City Arms pub itself constructed in only 1922. It was suggested by the excavator that they may have been medieval in origin.
