Summary

Archaeological investigations carried out on the south side of Cuppin Street by S Ward in 1986 recorded extensive evidence of activity from the medieval and post medieval periods. The second phase of medieval activity (phase IIa & IIb) dates to the 14th or 15th century and consists of the earliest structural activity on the site. At this time, Cuppin Street appears to have been developed as a single property with traces of the boundary ditches and a timber out building recorded (5). At least one phase of rebuilding of the medieval property was identified in the 15th-16th century. (4)

Archaeological investigations carried out on the south side of Cuppin Street by S Ward in 1986 recorded extensive evidence of activity from the medieval and post medieval periods.

The second phase of medieval activity (phase IIa & IIb) dates to the 14th or 15th century and consists of the earliest structural activity on the site. At this time, 34 Cuppin Street appears to have been developed as a single property with traces of the boundary ditches and a timber out building recorded (5). At least one phase of rebuilding of the medieval property was identified in the 15th-16th century. (4)
