Full Description
A medieval or later pit was recorded during archaeological investigations at Nicholas Street in 1957. The excavations were carried out in advance of a planned extension to the site of Messrs Carlux Electrical Services, recording evidence of an interval tower of the Roman fortress (CHER 8235). Much of the south wall of this tower had been disturbed by the cutting of the pit, no further details of which are noted. (1)
