Full Description
Archaeological investigations at Weaver Street in 1994 identified a series of cultivation or garden soils tentatively dated to the medieval period. The excavated trenches encountered traces of Roman material followed by a general build up of soil deposits showing little evidence of human activity until the later medieval period when soils encountered in trenches 1 and 3 suggest cultivation of garden activity, perhaps associated with the nearby friary.
