Full Description
During an archaeological evaluation at what was then the site of the police headquarters along Nun's Road, unstratified post medieval finds, that were not necessarily related to the militia barracks (CHER 10329) known to have stood on the site, were found (1). The finds included kiln wasters, some pottery, a brick fragment and clay tobacco pipe fragments. Because these were unstratified finds, owing to the extensive disturbance at the site with the construction of the police headquarters, these are considered a unique findspot rather than part of the barracks monument (1).
