Full Description

A former Presbyterian Chapel, now a United Reformed Church, on Newgate Street was built in 1860 by JW & J Hay and extended in 1884 by Kelly & Edwards. It was included in English Heritage’s Listed Buildings Register in 1998. It is accessed by a garden entry from Newgate Street. (1-2)

The chapel was occupied by a Welsh Congregation originally from Back Brook Street (CHER7070) between 1860 and 1870 after which they moved to new purpose built premises on Albion Street (CHER 10039). (3)
