A chapel on Commonhall Street is recorded on 19th and 20th century maps. Originally built as an Independent Chapel in 1772, the congregation left for larger premises in 1777 after which it was occupied by the Wesleyan Methodists until 1793.

An Independent Chapel on Commonhall Street was recorded in 1772 held by the congregation that later moved to the Queen Street site in 1777.

The chapel was subsequently used by the Wesleyan Methodists between 1777 and 1793.

It is recorded on 19th century maps as an Independent Chapel, it was demolished in the mid 20th century.
