Full Description
Harvie’s Almshouses were built following a gift by Robert Harvie in 1662 for the setting up of an almshouse for six people. A site was chosen on Duke Street (then Claverton Lane). Harvie also left shares in the Dee Bridge Waterworks to maintain the property however this was exchanged in the late 17th century and the buildings were described as ruinous by 1836. They were demolished in 1892. (1)
