Monument record 10034 - White Friars, Chester

The street of White Friars has been so named since the late 13th century when it appeared in documents at ‘whytefryer’s lane’ doubtless referring to the location of the Carmelite Friary. At its western end the road has since been redefined following modernisation of the transport system in the 1960s (1)
