Bunce Street, first mentioned in the 14th century, once extended north from Castle street up to Cuppin Street but has since been curtailed by the construction of Grosvenor Street and only the southern half remains as a narrow lane to the rear of the Grosvenor Museum.

Bunce Street once extended north from Castle street up to Cuppin Street but has since been curtailed by the construction of Grosvenor Street and only the southern half remains as a narrow lane to the rear of the Grosvenor Museum. It is first mentioned as ‘buncelone’ in the mid 14th century, its name is believed to be attributed to a personal name. (1)
