Full Description
Honwald’s Lane, leading off from the northern end of Frodsham Street was identified in a 1567 list of street names produced by Richard Dutton, then mayor of Chester. The origin of this road appears somewhat obscure (1), it may be equated with the present day Gorse Stacks area. It has also been called ‘Henwald’s Lane’ and was said to be in the location of the horse fair in the north east corner of the Gorse Stacks area. (2)
